Student's Review: 'The Scorch Trials' by Sònia Vallès

En el artículo de hoy, compartimos una reseña que nuestra alumna Sònia ha escrito para preparar el examen First Certificate. ¡Muchas gracias por tu aportación!

I’d like to review a special and fantastic science-fiction movie; it is based on the second book of the trilogy The Maze Runner, written by James Dashner. The film is called The Scorch Trials. It tells the story of Thomas, a teenager who has to survive in the scorch a desolate landscape filled with dangerous obstacles, with his friends. They want to escape from the corporation C.R.U.E.L. and from the flash, a terrible virus that turns people crazy. They are searching for its cure.

Thomas and a small group of rebels are locked in a very big bunker in the middle of the desert without knowing that they all are destined to end in a laboratory instead of being free. As in the first movie called THE MAZE RUNNER, Thomas is again the leader, they get out of the bunker without knowing what’s behind the walls, they have to deal with two unimaginable dangers: the desert and the attack of various groups of zombies, human bodies transformed into the undead after being infected by a virus called the 'flash'.

It’s a great action movie where there are fights, escapes and other type of scares and strange creatures. What I love about this movie is the actors, especially the principal character, Thomas, characterized by Dylan Obrien. In general all the actors and actresses do a good job, but the only critique that I have is that I miss some depth to the characters.

I would highly recommend it because it’s a great action and science-fiction movie.
